Okay so I know a lot of theories are being thrown around right now so I’d like to propose mine:
The fact that the angels have fallen quote, “like Lucifer did,” then that can only mean that some of them will sympathize with him. And that means someone is going to find Lucifer and he will now not only have demon followers, but angel followers as well. Lucifer returning AGAIN is still lining up with the 2014 story line.
This still poses further questions as to why Sam said yes this time, but it’s Sam so that probably means that he was trying to save people. 2014!Dean didn’t even know why so we’ll see about that.
As for Cas losing his grace this is all something we knew was going to happen but none of us were prepared for it- but all in all it still lines up with the 2014 timeline. And don’t even say to me that Cas forgot everything because did you see the way that he was looking at the sky? He knew exactly what the fuck was going on and it was destroying him. The point being that if there are going to be the radicals that follow Lucifer then there are also going to be the radicals that follow Castiel and the Winchesters.
And aw hell don’t even get me started on Michael, Lucifer and Adam because holy shit it’s about damn time they moseyed their asses up here.
This also poses the question- what is Crowley’s next move? Maybe the near-human will team up with the Winchesters again if Lucifer comes back just like the good old days.
But what all of this means is that it is looking HIGHLY along the lines that we will be getting many beloved characters back such as Chuck because he lines up with the 2014 storyline too. And where do angels go when they die? If heaven chucked out anything angel related does that mean that the dead ones come back? If so, we’re looking at a return of Balthazar, Gabriel, Zachariah, Naomi, and all the other poor bastards that were killed.
Basically I’m seeing season 9 as Team Lucifer vs. Team Michael vs. Team Winchester vs. Metatron’s dead ass.
